About Frugi

‘Frugi’ – meaning ‘Fruits of the Earth’ in Latin  started out not too far away from us in Helston, Cornwall. They create fantastic designs for both children and adults in an array of brilliant colours and playful, fun prints. Frugi clothing is made from soft, organic cotton, and all cotton is spared from harmful chemical pesticides that can harm both you or the environment. With factories in India, Turkey, Portugal and China, Frugi employ fair trade measures to ensure that all employees are given fair wage, as well as free access to a GP for them and their families. Frugi started off as a family business, and continues to apply that same philosophy as the business has grown.

Sustainability

Frugi is passionate about sustainability, using organic cotton or cotton in conversion as well as recycled materials.

They are also the first childrenswear brand on the planet to join and be certified by the Circular Textiles Foundation. We should all be focusing on a circular economy for our planet.

Their pioneering range of certified Recycle Me clothing is the first of its kind – recycling clothes back into clothes! Currently, clothing recycling is often about re-use or down-cycling, where the clothes are shredded into textiles scraps for padding, insulation and filling. Which is a great first step, but ultimately still leads to waste ending up in landfills or incineration. Frugi's new range has been designed specifically to be recycled back into clothes, so the raw materials are not lost, and the earth’s natural resources are saved
